Thank you, Matt and Kelsey – a kind testimonial indeed…

“Martha was the greatest! Prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable; what else do you want in a Realtor?!?!?! Her enthusiasm was second to none. Within 10 minutes of walking in our front door, she had plenty of suggestions for what needed to get done so we could maximize our sales…and she was RIGHT! Because of Martha’s ideas/suggestions, we had viewings within hours of the property hitting the market (we even had a couple before it went public)! She didn’t hesitate to fight for our asking price; there was no indecision on her part. Quick with suggestions and how to counter. Her follow through was amazing. Every step of the closing process she was there to make things easy for us to comprehend and execute. You’re losing money if you don’t allow Martha and her team to take care of your home selling needs!”

Darrell K Royal, legendary University of Texas football coach, passed away yesterday.  I am honored to say that my dad played under Coach Royal.  My whole life, I have heard legendary stories about this man and the impact he made on my young father’s life.  As my dad would day, “He was one of my three.” One of the three most important and influential men in my fathers life.  Wow.

Rest in Peace good man.

If you follow my blog, you know I have a little crush on Paul Qui, winner of Top Chef Texas and Executive Chef of Uchiko.  I FINALLY got over to his trailer, East Side King, last week.  The husband and I had a little date night on the East side.  Now I went to Zavala for 4th grade and Martin Jr High for 7th and 8th, but my how things have changed.

We started out at East Side Show Room for cocktails, apps and split and entree.

Featuring AustinBeerWorks!

Cocktail Menu Selections

We chose the fried chickpeas, grilled shrimp and the quail with peaches – all to spilt.  We LOOOVE sitting at the bar whenever it is the two of us, taking to the bartenders and learning new things.  Then it was off to Shangri La– which happens to be right across the street, but I took us on a few blocks round about, which ended up nice as we saw so many interesting spots on East 6th.  In the back of Shangri La- hosts East Side King, Paul’s trailer.

Shangri La Location!

This is one of 3 locations- and the Husband ordered the cow tongue.  It came on a bed of rice with mint and tomato- almost a pico de gallo.   It was so fun to people watch and enjoy the 88 degree evening (all beit 100% humidity- can’t win them all).

So I am late to the party- but better late than never!

I am a HUGE fan of the Seton Family of Hospitals and am THANKFUL that I have not (yet?) been into University Medical Center Brackenridge as a patient. I was fortunate a few years back to get a White Coat Tour of the facilities and see behind the scenes what makes up a Trauma 1 Hospital. It is overwhelmingly incredible.

I came across this video from patient, Andrew Reamer (age 26) and was a patient at Brackenridge for 47 days. He was in a boating accident and lost over 90% of his bodily fluids when he reached the ER.

This is a powerful endorsement for the folks at Brack and I am SO EXCITED about what is to come with the Seton Family of Hospitals and the Teaching Hospital that is coming to Austin with the synergy between UT Southwestern Dallas, Seton Hospital and UMCB.

“God was having a real good day when he thought up Brackenridge Hospital”
